About Dr. David MacDonald

Dr. MacDonald earned his BA in Physics at University of Maine at Orono in 1975, after which he attended The New England College of Optometry in Boston to obtain his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1983. After completing optometry college, Dr. MacDonald was chosen as one of four in the country to attend a prestigious Residency in Binocular Vision and Pediatric Vision at State University of New York College of Optometry in Manhattan. As part of this residency, Dr. MacDonald assisted in a study and co-authored a paper in the American Journal of Optometry & Physiological Optics in 1987. The article is entitled “Reduction of Asthenopia after Accommodative Facility Training”.

Dr. MacDonald has practiced in and experienced many different professional settings since 1985, enabling him to offer a very wide scope eye care services. Dr. MacDonald offers comprehensive medical eye care including diagnosis and treatment of different eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, cataracts, macular degeneration, eye infections, eye injuries, and others, with a special emphasis on the treatment of dry eye conditions. Dr. MacDonald also offers specialized services related to eye muscle disorders which can cause headaches and tired achy eyes, especially in the workplace.

Dr. David MacDonald has been serving the C.T shoreline since 2000. , and his mission is to continue to provide personal, comprehensive vision care for all age groups.
